2nd Annual Concert and Graduation Day

The sight of Ryan hopping all the way to the Assistant Principal to accept the trophy on the stage is making Mom continue to daydream for as long as 15 seconds. Mom couldn’t be more proud of Ryan for being awarded the 2nd best performance student of class 3A in the Little Bell Montessori Kindergarten.

The meaningful event took place yesterday. It was the kindergarten's 2nd Annual Concert and Graduation Day. Looking at all the other children that were present in the ballroom with their family members on this meaningful occasion really melted Mom’s heart. Some were dressed in their performance costumes and some were already in their graduation robe with the mortar board fitted nicely on their heads.

Mommy, Grandpa, Grandma, Ee Ee and Ryan arrived at the Grand Ballroom of the Summit Hotel, BM at around 11.20am yesterday. The backdrop was beautifully framed with colorful balloons which caught Ryan’s eyes in no time. Papa arrived 10 minutes later and quickly took Ryan to the stage to touch the balloons. Ryan was jumping with joy and Alas! Mom was just afraid that Ryan would pull the balloons down and ruined the backdrop.

Mom brought Ryan to another room where all the children were supposed to wait before being ushered to the stage area. There the teachers will take the opportunity to change the children into their performance costumes for those who were not given their costumes 2 days ago. The assistants also did some touching up on the children's faces with mild make up. Since Ryan and your friend Ally need to go up stage to accept the trophies, you would only change into your costume after the event.

Ryan was so sweet with the frog costume and was hopping around like a frog joyfully in his green suit. One of the assistant applied some eye shadow on your eye lids and two patches of blusher on your cheeks.

"Is Ryan ready for the frog dance?"

"Yes, mommy!"

"Wait, my baby. Let mommy cuddle you to where Papa and the rest are sitting so that they could have a close look at your cute look and have a good laugh."

Ryan really enjoyed the performance of the "Frog Dance" on stage. It is just amazing that 3 year old kids could remember the steps and dance gracefully to the beat of the music with slightless flaw. Amazing!

Before the end of the event, all the children went up to the stage to do a group singing. Lovely!

The event ended at about 1.20pm. Short and full of sweet memories!

Malaysia celebrates 50th Merdeka Day!

It's today, Ryan. 31st August, 2007. We are all proud to be Malaysian... Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!

Stressful?

"There is nothing wrong with you. You can see it clearly in the screen now... it is very clean and you are not pregnant," uttered Dr Lee to mom. Mom accepted the fact openly after having done the HPT thrice. The third time was conducted by Dr Lee's nurse to confirm his findings. As planned, right after work on Monday, mom headed to this maternity clinic which is situated 2 minutes drive from Grandma's house. Infact, this is the clinic that Grandma delivered Ee Ee and Ee Yo many many years ago.

"Stress could be one of the reason," continued Dr Lee. "Come and see me if your menses did not arrive in 2 weeks time."

Negative?

Mom had been contemplating whether to do the HCG test again this morning. The decision was so hard to make as mom did not want to be dissappointed again. On the other hand, mom's curiosity was intensely high. It has been the 10th day now that mom missed menses. This is just not normal. As mom grabbed the HPT and headed to the bathroom, mom could feel the heart pumping at a greater speed than normal. "What if the line doesn't show up in the window again?" And true enough the result was a negative. Feeling depressed, mom walked out from the bathroom and headed back to the bedroom. Mom gave Ryan a peck on the forehead. Ryan's forehead was a little cold and mom reached the air-cond remote control to switched it off. Ryan was still fast asleep and mom did not want to wake you up. Mom could only stare at Ryan's chubby face but mom's head was full of questions. Papa is in China now and will only be back in a week's time.

"What is wrong?"

Later in the afternoon, at Grandma's house, mom did a lot of reading from different sources in the internet and went through some forums put up by several groups. Mom's experience is nothing uncommon. The only thing to do now is to make a visit to the gynaecologist. Mom attempted an appointment with Dr. Ng but his schedule seems to be quite full. Managed to get a slot at 4.15pm on the 6th of September, 2007. Another 2 more weeks to go.. It could a good thing to at least get a slot with him and asked for his advice on getting pregnant again. It has been always difficult to make appointment with Dr Ng through the nurses sitting at the front desk of the OB clinic at this Hospital. Mom had a tough one too with the nurse today who was trying to turn down mom's request for an appointment.

Thinking back when mom was anticipating menses to arrive on 16th Aug, and it didn't happen. Mom then waited another 3 days and yet, mom's menses still haven't arrived. Feeling delighted, mom just let the days passed by naturally and was waiting anxiously for the right time to conduct the HCG test. Mom picked 23rd Aug, as on this day, Papa is leaving for China and mom wanted to give Papa the so-called "good news". However, the overly excited moment turned into a doubtful situation when the result was a negative. Mom dropped Papa at Grandma's house and Ee Ya then drove Papa to the airport. Mom broke the news to Grandma and of course Grandma consoled mom by saying it was too early to take the test. Mom told Ee Ya the same thing too. At work, mom was keeping things done at a relatively slower pace. Nevertheless, jobs were executed before leaving for home.

Tears started falling only when mom was driving back home.....

Mom may be visiting another gyny to get some ultra-sound scanning done to validate the HCG test result tomorrow evening.

Happy Birthday, Papa!

Today is Papa's birthday and also Mother's Day. On behalf of Ryan, mom bought 2 shirts for papa and he liked them so very much. Papa happily uttered... "Thanks Ryan". Mom bought a Nokia Bluetooth for Papa since Papa's existing one somehow looked so old and outdated.

Papa and mom woke up quite early in the morning today. We were both just too excited to fetch you home from Granma's house. Mom can sensed a confused face crafted in Ryan's face now. Well, you have spent a night at Granma's place because papa and mom were celebrating papa's big day yesterday evening. It is on very rare occasions that mom have to let you stay overnight at Granma's house. It would be either mom needs to be on overseas trip or have fallen ill.

Last evening was just special. Papa and mom had a decent dinner at Soho's before we went for a movie at Mega Cineplex. We watched the movie entitled "Next" instead of "Spiderman 3". We were fascinated with the completely sold out ticket for Spiderman 3 although yesterday had already been the 12th day after it was being released on 1st May. However, "Next" was awesome. We enjoyed the movie so much.. Ryan.

Back at Granma's house, Granpa, Granma, Ee Ya, Ee Ee, Ee Yo and Tiau Tiau were already getting ready to start their journey to Ipoh when we arrived. Mom wished Granma a "Happy Mother's Day" while Papa was greeted with Birthday's wishes... Papa was so lucky again to receive his birthday 'ang pow' from Granma and a presie from Ee Ya too.

Mom actually would like to join them too but Papa hurt his foot and was not convenient to drive. So, we spent today at home watching tv and playing Ryan's toys on mom's bed. Papa was supposed to go back to his office today to complete his outstanding tasks but I guess, Papa is being lazy too.

While mom was typing this, Ryan is already sound asleep on his playpen. "Sweet dreams, my cutie pie!"

Indolent?

Mom is really a lousy writer.. or is mom being indolent?

Proud...

Mom came back quite early from work last Monday. Arriving Grandma’s house around 6.30pm. As soon as mom arrived, mom saw Ryan, Grandma and ‘Eeya’ getting ready to go to the pasar malam. Every Monday, there will be a lot of stalls lining up along the street near Grandma’s house. There were a collection of stalls selling goods such fruits, vegetables, toys, clothes and other ornaments at low prices. There were also hawker stalls selling laksa, noodles, satay, murtabak, kebab, pizza and et cetera. This group of stalls rotate around different housing areas on different days of the week.

Hey, why is mom writing about pasar malam? Mom’s intention is to relate an incident that happened that day. As mom held Ryan’s little soft and delicate palm walking along the street, mom knew Ryan was astonished with all sort of toys that were being displayed. Ryan called out loud each time spotting the toys from far and mom enjoyed looking at the happy smile crafted on Ryan’s face.

As soon as we finished getting the foodstuff for our dinner, Ryan pointed his finger towards a ‘pakcik’ who was busy inflating a balloon with the helium gas. There were at least already 6 balloons floating in the air with each of them neatly tied with fine strings at around 1 meter long all attached to the top of the gas tank.

“Balloon! Mommy! I want balloon!" "Let’s find out how much does it cost, Ryan", mom said. As mom was approaching the ‘pakcik’, Ryan got even more excited. “Satu berapa?”, mom asked. The man gave a peace sign and continued distending another balloon. No more further persuasion was made. Well, feeling disappointed, mom felt that RM2 was a little dear for just an oval medium sized balloon. “Ryan, it’s a bit expensive! When we get home later, mommy will try to search for a balloon and blow you a bigger one. Is that ok?” To mom’s surprised, Ryan accepted the idea by saying “OK” happily. Not a single act of rebel has Ryan demonstrated. Deep inside mom’s heart, mom felt so proud of you, Ryan. It wasn’t mom’s intention not to get you that balloon, son……

Wow.. I have a blogspot too..

Many months ago, a friend of mom asked if Ryan has a blogspot. Mom answered with a negative reply and with a single lame excuse.. "I can't find time for that. I have thousands of pictures and great memories to share but.." Argh.. there is always a "but" in between the lines. At that very moment, hundreds and thousands of great memories of my little king flashed out randomly in mom's head. Mom knew it is time to start sharing and penning down the moments of joy of giving birth to and bringing up a son called Ryan. It's gonna take sometime for mom to stroll along the memory lanes. Rest assured mom will surely walk through some of the good ones..
Ryan is 2 and a half years old now. Healthy, steady, cheeky and witty... a little sunshine that keeps on glimmering mom's and papa's life...
